Choose Cumberland Relocation Package Application Period Re-Opened!!

The Choose Cumberland Relocation Program is accepting applications again and will review them on a rolling basis. This initiative is a talent attraction program for individuals who live outside of Allegany County, Maryland and work remotely, or are currently in the process of relocating to Cumberland for a new or existing job.

THE OFFER - Up to $20,000

$10,000 relocation cash
PLUS
Up to $10,000, dollar for dollar match, for approved renovations on an existing home, or for a down payment on a newly constructed home, within the city limits.

This is a great opportunity if you, or someone you know, is at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the United States, has full time remote employment, existing local employment, or accepting a new job in the area, and does not current have a home under contract with a realtor. This program was created to increase economic opportunity, grow our talented workforce, and improve our housing within the City of Cumberland city limits.

If accepted, the applicant must purchase a home within six months and live in it as their primary residence for no less than 5 years. If applicant lives in home less than 5 years the funding will need to be paid back to the City of Cumberland.

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
