Absolutely not! We've made it super easy for chess novices to teach their children chess, with a short poem describing each piece and the moves the piece can make, and of course, all the lights that show you everything you need to know!
In addition to teaching the basics of chess, this book helps children develop valuable skills such as hand-eye coordination, pattern recognition, memory and focus. By learning how to play chess early on, kids also improve their strategic thinking and logical reasoning, which are beneficial both in and out of the game.
Our book has 6 pages, each featuring a different chess piece. Each page has a cute illustration of the chess piece to bring it to life, plus a rhyme that explains more about how the piece moves.
We have a big, clicky button that when pressed, shows the direction that each piece can move in on the board. For example, for the Rook, it would light up first vertically, then horizontally, then finally will show both directions together. Our objective with this book is to help build the foundation for chess, which to us, starts with how the pieces move.
