Ask FitBit integration with the most popular fitness apps (Google Fit, Apple Health, etc.)

The Issue

Many FitBit users have been requesting an integration of their devices (like the popular wristbands Charge 2 or Alta HR) with the world's most popular mobile apps for fitness and/or sleeping tracking such as Google Fit (Android, 50M users), Apple Health (iOS), Samsung Health (Android) or Sleep as Android (10M users).

The company pretends to listen but in fact regularly ignore these requests, avoiding these integrations, highly on demand and the standard for many other popular fitness trackers.

Here some examples directly from FitBit forum (not to mention social media):

When a user asked about the possibility to have an app communicating directly with FitBit, the official reply was: "Fitbit trackers can only communicate over BLE with Fitbit's apps at this time." (2014, source).

It's time to speak loud and make clear that customer satisfaction should come before subtle business strategies. Many popular companies lost ground and even disappeared because they were not able to adapt to change or satisfy their customers. FitBit is still leading the table in the wearables, despite constantly losing market share from 26.8% in 2015 to 22% in 2016 (source: Android Headlines).

The integrations requested do not require big efforts or investments. The fact that the company keeps on hiding the issue, postponing it with no clear plan, in a very unrespectful way towards its customers, shows no commitment to their customers' requests. Therefore, this petition represents both a strong reminder for FitBit key people to change their approach shortly and a warning for potential customers that might find disappointing buying a device that might not meet their most basic expectations.
