Travelling on a cargo ship is a unique experience, whether you love the sea, are conscious of your carbon footprint or simply prefer to sail in a relaxed atmosphere away from the crowds, then travelling by cargo ship is the right choice for you.
We've been doing this for over 30 years and are passionate about providing a personalised service tailored to your needs.
Since major shipowners withdrew support for this popular but discretionary activity, with a few exceptions, deep sea intercontinental voyages have not been possible.
Book early for 2026 to avoid disappointment, demand is high and capacity limited.
Current possibilities:
- classic voyages historic coastal vessel (2026) North Sea / Baltic (mv Nordstjernen)
- short haul European, Mediterranean, Baltic
- Europe/South Africa/Europe voyages, 2026 heavily booked already. Waitlisting/standby is possible for additional cargo induced voyages on a rolling 6-week basis and for 2027.
- a very limited number of cargo/sail vessel voyages transatlantic. Please ensure that you are able to satisfy the onerous insurance requirements of Owner's; we are not currently able to offer bookings and are in the process of setting up the necessary insurance policies for passengers to purchase.
- French Polynesian voyages (mv Aranui V) 2026 options and a new ship in 2027
- mv Bella Desgagnes (St Lawrence River, Canada) 2026 options only
- British Columbia, Menzies Bay Inland Waterways 5 night, 2026 availability mv Aurora Explorer
There are alternatives, one off cruise ship Voyage Options are possible on some of the routes popular with cargo ship travellers. Note please that owing to the restrictive policies of the major cruise lines, in most cases you may only book cruises through a travel agent in your country of residence.
Generally no longer possible in either direction (with any shipowner or booking agent):
- Australia/New Zealand/Europe voyages
- Europe/South America voyages
- transpacific voyages
- Suez or Panama Canal transits
- round the world voyages
- voyages to/from or in around Asia or Oceania

Our website is updated regularly with currently bookable options; please do not contact us regarding deep sea international voyages not listed, we can no longer viably respond. Prices shown are indicative only and subject to confirmation at time of booking.
