DoorDash Inc. is experimenting with a standalone artificial intelligence-powered app for users to find new restaurants, expanding its reach beyond its flagship food-delivery service.

The new app, called Zesty, is in public testing in San Francisco and New York, DoorDash co-founder Andy Fang wrote in an X post on Monday. After signing in with a DoorDash account, users will see nearby restaurants and a text box where they can ask an AI chatbot for tailored recommendations. The suggestions include citations to third-party sources, such as Google Maps ratings, the number of likes on TikTok videos, and mentions on Reddit threads.
