What is Rovo Dev?
| Rovo Dev is a context-aware AI agent that accelerates the software development lifecycle by handling planning, coding, reviews, and automating repetitive work at scale. |
Who can access Rovo Dev?
| Rovo Dev Standard is generally available for all new and existing customers! Try it now. In addition, limited monthly Rovo Dev credits per developer will be gradually rolled out to customers with a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise Cloud plan of Jira, starting with sites who already use Rovo. Admins will be notified 30 days prior to their rollout and will have an option to opt-out if needed. For more information on Rovo Dev credits, please review Rovo Dev documentation. |
What is the difference between Rovo and Rovo Dev?
| Rovo enables teams with AI capabilities such as search, chat, and studio apps. Rovo Dev is an AI agent that expands on Rovo capabilities, specifically designed for professional software engineers. It handles code planning, code generation, code reviews, and automates repetitive work at scale. Rovo Dev has separate pricing and packaging to Rovo. |
Does Rovo Dev use AI?
| Rovo Dev uses AI as part of its functionality and respects your organization’s AI settings. If your organization is not ready for AI, admins can deactivate it through Atlassian Administration. Rovo Dev uses third-party hosted LLMs from OpenAI and Anthropic. The LLM providers we use do not retain your inputs and outputs, or use them to improve their services. |
Does Rovo Dev respect my existing data access permissions?
| Rovo Dev respects all of your existing permissions. In fact, two users may receive different results based on the content they have access to. The data a user has access to is not limited to the product they’re working on. Due to the connected nature of our products, information can be pulled from various experiences to inform a response (or output). All permissions set in the Atlassian platform will be respected as long as they are set accordingly. Some Rovo Dev features allow users to connect third-party data sources and enter prompts to send data outside your Atlassian site. If you don’t want users to access this feature, you can turn off Rovo Dev. Learn more about MCP Client security considerations here. |
How is Atlassian protecting customer data?
| We apply our Privacy Principles and company values to Rovo Dev, just as with everything else we do. We’re passionate about creating meaningful data controls, choices, and notices to foster open collaboration and deeper teamwork. This means we embrace privacy by design in everything we do. Are you using my inputs and outputs to train Atlassian products and services?
| The inputs you submit and the outputs you receive from Rovo Dev are used only to serve your experience. Rovo Dev does not use your inputs or outputs to train Atlassian products and services. These features only use data about how you interact with our features, such as the people you work with and the size and type of attachments, and the feedback you opt to provide. |
Is Rovo Dev HIPAA compliant?
| At this time, Rovo Dev is not HIPAA compliant and our Business Associate Agreement (BAA) does not cover the use of these features. |
