Where can I use Alexa+?

All customers can access Alexa+ on Alexa.com and the Alexa app for free. Download the Alexa app from your app store. Prime or a separate subscription is required to access Alexa+ on your Alexa+ compatible devices. You can manage your subscriptions here.

What subscriptions are available for Alexa+?

There are three ways to get Alexa+

  • Prime: Prime members get full access to Alexa+ across compatible Alexa+ devices (Echo, Fire TV and tablets), on Alexa.com, and in the Alexa app for free. This is a new free benefit included with the Prime membership. With Alexa, Prime benefits are more rewarding and easier to access with smarter shopping, deal scouting and personalized content recommendations on Prime Video, Amazon Music, and more.

  • Standard: If customers do not want Prime, but want access to Alexa+ on their compatible devices (Echo, Fire TV, and tablets), customers can get the Standard plan for $19.99/month. This plan includes full access to Alexa.com and the Alexa app as well.

  • Free: Try a limited Alexa+ experience for free on Alexa.com and in the Alexa app ($0/month). Access to Alexa+ on compatible devices like Echo devices and Fire TV requires a Prime membership or Standard subscription.

What do you get with the Free plan?

Non-Prime customers can try a free and limited experience of Alexa+ on Alexa.com, in the Alexa app, and through app supported devices like Buds, Frames, Auto, and tablets. This experience gives customers daily, limited access to Alexa+ on your browser and in the Alexa app. Usage limits refresh regularly, so each day may differ based on your activity and overall demand.

What is the difference between the Prime plan and Standard plan?

When you join Prime, you get full access to Alexa+ across compatible devices, Alexa.com, and in the Alexa app, as well as all the benefits of Prime, including fast, free delivery on millions of products, Prime Video, and much more. As part of your Prime benefits, you also get unlimited, full resolution Amazon Photo storage and 5GB of video storage. With this plan, full access to Alexa+ is included for free with an active Prime membership. The Standard plan gets you full access to Alexa+ across compatible devices, Alexa.com, and the Alexa app but without any Prime benefits. Our Standard plan also comes with 1TB of Amazon photos and video storage.

Is there a free Alexa+ experience on devices?

No, there is not a free experience for Alexa+ on Echo, and Fire TV. If you prefer using the original Alexa, it will remain available on your devices.

Can my child access Alexa+ on their Kids Edition Echo devices?

Yes. Alexa+ is an AI assistant for the whole family. Parents can make the Alexa+ Kids experience available to their kids on their Kids Edition Echo devices or by creating and enabling a child profile with Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC). Parents can set up a device to run Alexa+ Kids exclusively, or, if the device is shared by members of the household, parents can also set up a voice ID for their kids, so the device will turn on Alexa+ Kids when an enrolled child is recognized. When an enrolled child profile is recognized or on a device with Amazon Kids enabled, our GenAI content moderation extends the multi-layered controls for a general audience with additional guardrails that are purpose-built for children.

Will Amazon Kids+ work with Alexa+?

Alexa+ is compatible with Amazon Kids+. With Alexa+ and an Amazon Kids+ subscription, you'll have access to new Amazon Kids+ features like Stories with Alexa and Explore with Alexa. If you don't already have Amazon Kids+ and are eligible for a free trial, you can try Amazon Kids+ for free for 30-days.

Will the original Alexa still be available?

We're positive you'll love all that Alexa+ has to offer—greater intelligence, more conversation and a striking array of new, proactive capabilities. However, if you prefer using the original Alexa, it will remain available on your devices.
