Hosts can now scan the inside of their home to create a 3D floor plan, which identifies rooms and furniture and can be published to your listing. Your floor plan and photo tour can help guests get a better sense of what to expect when they book your place.

Floor plan data

To create a floor plan, you'll need an iPhone Pro (12 or later), or an iPad Pro (2020 or later). Your device's camera and LiDAR sensor capture data to generate a model of your space. This may include:

  • Camera frame images used to identify listing features
  • Room dimensions and layout, including walls, floors, and ceilings
  • Location of doors, windows, and other openings
  • Detected furniture, fixtures, and objects and their placement

You're responsible for keeping sensitive or personal information out of the scan.

Please note: Make sure to open all shower curtains before scanning to make sure showers are accurately captured in your floor plan.

How to scan your floor plan

  1. Tap Listings and select your listing.
  2. Under Listing editor, tap Floor plan > Get started.
  3. Allow camera access and review the best practices tip sheet.
  4. Walk through your listing and capture all rooms and amenities.
  5. Tap Done, then confirm Done scanning? to submit.
  6. Under Floor plan in the listing editor, you'll see Processing.
  7. Check back to find out when your floor plan is ready.

Your floor plan will be processed within 24–48 hours. Once it's ready, you can edit it on your mobile device or laptop before guests see it.

How the data is used

Floor plan data is processed on your device and uploaded to Airbnb to generate the floor plan and improve the feature. As the feature develops, it may identify additional amenities for you to add.
