When Macquarie University computing academic Greg Baker decided to represent himself in a legal dispute with his employer in October, his knowledge of workplace laws was close to zero, he concedes.
“None whatsoever,” he says of his industrial relations experience at the time. “I would have been only dimly aware of the existence of Fair Work.”
