Rio Tinto ditches outsourcers to build its own software; CIO Dan Evans explains

Mining giant Rio Tinto is trying to hire up to 600 software developers over the next five years, as the company looks to jettison external providers like Accenture and Capgemini and build its software in-house.

The ASX-listed company is in the process of establishing an in-house software development team from scratch, starting in Brisbane, where it has hired 20 people since the beginning of the year.
