I'm Now "Writing" My Blog

I needed to get my Amazon cart up to the $35 minimum for free shipping. My 3D printer was recently having issues with the thermistor on the hotend, and I needed to buy a replacement, about $15. So I look at what they are peddling and I come across an entry level fountain pen. PILOT Metropolitan. It's a little over $30, so that will surely get me to my $35 free shipping minimum, right? Nope, doesn't qualify. So I add a Moleskine notebook along with some ink for the pen. $90 something later, I finally get my free shipping.

Damn you Amazon, you've done it again!

Anyway, between work, watching sports, playing games/tinkering, etc., I spend quite a bit of time in front of a screen. So I try to think of ways to reduce screen time, while working some parts of my brain that I don't typically use. Why not physically writing blog posts?

I updated my blog post agent SKILL.md to have it read pictures I send it via email. It will put a PR in with the transcribed post, as well as pictures of the original handwritten post and a note mentioning the transcription. I haven't actually completed it at the time of writing this, but if these words end up on my blog, then it means it worked.

With this change in how I write blog posts, I imagine it will also change how the posts are read. My brain has a tough time staying on topic. When typing on a computer, I can go back and change or erase entire thoughts. But when I physically write the words down in pen, the writing becomes a little more permanent. Sure I can cross out a word or sentence (see very first sentence of this post in handwritten photo), but I try to be a little more thoughtful before putting the Iroshizuku ink to paper.

This blog post was handwritten in ink, then transcribed by AI
