Extended Long Term Support

Extended Long Term Support (ELTS) is a commercial offering to further extend the lifetime of Debian releases to 10 years (i.e. 5 supplementary years after the 5 years offered by the LTS project). It is not an official Debian project. Debian's package building infrastructure is not involved in this service.

The project is managed by Freexian. Freexian aims to keep the updates available for individual users and non-profit organizations (feel free to mail sales@freexian.com to request access if you are in that situation). However, the scope of supported packages is defined by the organizations which subscribe to Freexian ELTS to ensure complete security support for their systems and to comply with different regulations.

The current ELTS releases are Debian Debian 9 "Stretch", and Debian 10 "Buster". Detailed information about the service, including how to obtain updates can be found on Freexian's Extended LTS page of their website.
