Viewdown watches the file on disk, so there is nothing to install on the other side. No plugin, no extension, and no preview pane taking half the window you were writing in. And when a coding agent is the one editing, Viewdown follows along. From a terminal, viewdown README.md opens it.

Features
Straight to what changed
Save in your editor and the page is redrawn before you look over. Viewdown scrolls to whatever you just changed and marks it in the margin, so an edit at the bottom of a long file never goes unnoticed.
Diagrams and maths
Mermaid diagrams are drawn, LaTeX maths is typeset and code blocks are syntax-highlighted in 80+ languages. Tables, task lists, footnotes and callouts all render, and YAML frontmatter folds neatly away above the page.
Find your way around
Press T for a table of contents beside the page, with sections that fold. Search matches the text you see rather than the Markdown underneath, so a phrase broken up by formatting is still found.
