Too much AI, Microsoft

Copilot AI GENERATED

Windows Latest often focuses on calling Microsoft out, and in many cases the criticism is justified. The company has clearly shifted its consumer strategy, and recent moves suggest it may already be scaling back some Copilot plans and broader AI use in consumer products. That does not seem to apply to its blogs, where Microsoft is still using AI-generated filler images, even when those visuals contain obvious errors.

As Windows Latest pointed out, this is a company worth trillions of dollars, yet its official blog appears to rely on Copilot-generated images instead of using proper product photography or real screenshots. What stands out even more is that one of those visuals appears to show a major UI mistake, two Start buttons on the taskbar, in content meant to promote Windows 11 features.

The issue is not just that Microsoft is using AI art. The bigger problem is that these images appear inside Windows Learning Center posts, where users expect accurate visuals that match the operating system. If Microsoft is using illustrations to explain Windows 11 tools, those images should at least reflect the real interface.

Windows Latest says Microsoft labels many of these embedded visuals as “AI Art Created by Copilot,” making it clear they were generated rather than captured from a real system. But does this solve the dual Start button issue? No, it does not. Let’s hope seniors learning Windows don’t start asking their grandchildren why their system has only one button.
