Corsair DDR5 memory with 6000 MT/s with Chinese modules

A Corsair Vengeance DDR5 module has been spotted with DRAM from ChangXin Memory Technologies, better known as CXMT. The information comes from screenshots shared by wxnod, which show a Corsair DDR5-6000 module identified by CPU-Z as using ChangXin memory.

The module is listed as a 16GB DDR5-6000 part. The label shows timings of 36-44-44-96 at 1.35V, while the reported part number is “CMK5X16G3E60C36A2-CN.” The module also appears to support both Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles, according to the shared material.

CXMT appears in a mainstream memory brand

This is not the first time CXMT DDR5 has appeared in retail memory, but this example is more interesting because it involves Corsair. The company usually sources DRAM from established suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron for its consumer DDR5 kits.

We previously covered a KingBank DDR5-6000 CL36 kit based on CXMT memory. That kit was tested by Hardware Unboxed on a Zen 5 platform and did not show obvious gaming performance problems compared with other DDR5-6000 kits in the tested games.

CXMT has also confirmed its own DDR5 roadmap. The company said its DDR5 lineup reaches up to 8000 Mbps and includes 16Gb and 24Gb die densities. Its public portfolio also includes UDIMM, SODIMM, CUDIMM, CSODIMM, RDIMM, MRDIMM, and TFF MRDIMM formats.

The timing lines up with a tighter memory market, where AI demand has increased pressure on DRAM supply. If this Corsair module reaches wider retail channels, it would show that Chinese DDR5 is no longer limited to regional or lower-profile brands.

Corsair has not confirmed global release of CXMT-equipped DDR5 memory. The fact that the product name carries “CN” in name suggests it may be a trial production for Chinese market.
