This interview preparation guide is designed for experienced engineers who are now pursuing roles in the AI industry.
As you prepare, keep a few important realities in mind:
- Interviewing is its own skill, separate from what you excel at in your actual day-to-day engineering work.
- For senior folks with years of experience, you’ll need to set some pride aside and grind through standard interview loops.
No matter how senior you are or how irrelevant some of the interview formats feel, every company will put you through the same basic screens. They often don’t reflect your real skillset, I know it, the interviewer knows it, the pugs know it, everyone dislikes it, and everyone keeps doing it.
Most of the material is what I used while preparing for interviews at different companies in the Bay Area, it's highly specific to my skillset and it's organized to be more of a cheatsheet and making it your own is a part of the learning process.
