Rippling sued
@deeltoday. Our lawsuit alleges Deel cultivated a spy at Rippling & orchestrated a long-running trade-secret theft. The spy searched “deel” in our systems 23 times per day on avg, letting him spy on Deel’s own customers who were considering a switch to Rippling.
In the complaint, we describe how we used a honeypot to reveal that Deel’s senior leadership orchestrated the illegal activity:
Deel’s alleged spy locked himself in an office bathroom when confronted by court-appointed solicitors on Friday. He declared “I’m willing to take that risk [of violating the court order]” when served with legal papers to hand over his phone, and then fled the premises.
We always prefer to win by building the best products and we don’t turn to the legal system lightly. But we are taking this extraordinary step to send a clear message that this type of misconduct has no place in our industry. Read the full complaint and press release:
