2 interesting counter cyclical trends happening at the same time right now: 1. Centralization of all data inside companies with the rise of data warehouses 2. Decentralization of data outside of companies with the rise of blockchains
Both of these trends are massive and are going to create huge value (many don’t know about the first one). The funny thing though is that they’re both trying to accomplish the same overlapping goal of “I just want control over all my data”
I guess if you decentralize far enough, it wraps around to becoming totally centralized with all your data in one place anyway
