We were able to publish S-2P, not in top journals (Science, Nature, Cell...~1 year’s submission and 5 rejections), but finally, unexpectedly, in billion doses of vaccines.

Very analogous to Kary Mullis' experience with his 1987 paper first describing PCR: rejected by Science and Nature, (& Cell?) Finally published by his friend, editor of Methods in Enzymology. Now most cited paper in history. See "Who's minding the store?" in his autobiography.
This is possibly the most well earned "told you so" to date in this century. I'm glad the work was able to find its audience when it was desperately needed.
