Starting with how. I'm dividing it into 3 categories. One month & $10K each. I'll share efforts I pledge towards (min. $20) as I go – hopefully helping to promote & shine light on these invaluable contributions to human innovation & creativity. Recs are most welcome 🤓

First up (July). Education. So often forgotten, but such a crucial element to OSS. It certainly was for me. I'll pledge $10K towards efforts around documentation, translations, guides to software focused on improving education itself.

September: Innovation & DX. Efforts focused on pushing the envelope on: 1) Our velocity or ability to innovate 2) Our productivity & efficiency to build

So why? When I was 10y old, mental health issues brought havoc into our family household. I spent less time at home & more time locked into my room when I was. I started spending a *ton* of time on WWW (1.0) & IRC. It gave me comfort & I found peers.

One day, I accidentally right-clicked "View page source" on my favourite online game. Gibberish at first, but I quickly identified some recognizable text. I saved a local copy, modified it & double-clicked it. Wow – I made a website 🤯 From that point on, I was hooked.

Around me things were falling apart, but on our family computer I was able to put things together with unlimited creativity – thanks to reading & copying working code from others. I can't express how important that was to me. Subsequently, how much I've loved OSS ever since.

It's why

is so important to me, and I hope, my life's work from here on out. I'm excited to now use our service personally to – on behalf of Birk 10y as well as 35y – show gratitude towards this ecosystem and some amazing contributors in it. (Sorry for the thread)
