You people are young whippasnappas! I used Aho and Ullman's two volume set: "The Theory of Parsing, Translation and Compiling" Volume I "Parsing" which was 542 pages, June 1, 1972 and Volume II was "Compiling" 1002 pages January 1, 1972.
