@AppleiCloud Drive. DO NOT store anything critical, of monetary or legal value under Desktop or Documents if you have iCloud Drive activated. I have lost access and support needs to reset (empty) my iCloud Drive, and manuscripts, legal docs will be erased.
Yes, I have local backups, but over time old files will be erased by iCloud Drive locally and only exist in the cloud, and after perhaps a year they will not be on physical local backups anymore.
That will for example include legal contracts, company bookkeeping (which are required to be saved for 7 years by law), old best-seller manuscripts just to mention a few things.
This is a severe bug which have occured, but I guess everyone eventually are at risk. Sooner or later your iCloud Drive might end up in this state. Naturally, Apple takes no responsibility (read the fine print).
Det finns bara ett sätt egentligen och det är att sprida riskerna och backuppern. Lokal lös hårddisk som mellan backupperna inte är inkopplad. Olika molntjänster hos olika leverantörer. En disk hos en god vän man litar på (krypterad om känslig).
