One project, two ways to investigate tracking.

Android app

Monitor and block on your device.

TrackerControl uses Android's VPN functionality to inspect network traffic locally. It needs no root and sends no personal data to an external server by default.

  • See tracking companies, destinations and countries in real time.
  • Block trackers and ads, with selectable blocking modes.
  • Inspect tracker libraries in app code and optionally use Secure DNS or remote VPN routing.

TrackerControl Slim is the feature-reduced Google Play version with Minimal blocking mode.

iOS app reports

Identify embedded SDK signatures.

The iOS research website shows which tracking software is embedded in an app and the companies behind recognised signatures.

Reports identify embedded software. They do not block traffic or establish that transfers were observed.

Method

Evidence from code and connections.

Android combines DNS-based network analysis with tracker-library analysis. Network results show actual destinations contacted while an app runs; code results show software that may be present without being activated.

Both approaches make the companies and purposes behind tracking easier to understand, while keeping the limits of each kind of evidence visible.

Android privacy by design

Analysis stays close to the user.

Android TrackerControl processes monitored traffic on your device and does not intercept SSL/TLS connections. Optional remote VPN routing changes where allowed traffic exits; it is clearly separate from the on-device analysis.
