So You Want To Make A Social Media Platform
Do you have a plan for:

- Harassment and stalking
- Unwanted NSFW content
- Unwanted NSFL content
- Privacy protections and violations
- Doxxing

1/

- People being rude/aggressive in bad faith, especially in a way that disrupts normal good-faith communication
- Coordinated brigading to disrupt normal, good-faith communication
- People using the platform for "CSAM"
- Spam
- Account hijacking
- Account impersonation

2/

- Gaming of engagement metrics
- Manipulation / gaming of the promotion algorithm
- Manipulation of the platform by foreign states
- Mass account registration, especially for bad-faith uses (brigading, spam, algorithm gaming)
- Advertising click fraud

3/

- Compliance with law enforcement requests
- Having to comply with awful censorship policies in order to legally operate abroad
- Having to comply with corrupt and undemocratic governments' horrifying / unethical law enforcement requests in order to legally operate abroad

4/

- Minors on the platform:
- Are they allowed to join? If not, preventing it
- If they are allowed to join, complying with privacy protections for minors
- Protecting them from abuse, manipulation, and harm when they do inevitably join, regardless of your policies

5/

Human nature is the hardest problem in tech.
