The evolution of technology over the past few decades has drastically transformed the music industry, making once expensive and exclusive gear accessible to everyone. This democratization has allowed countless talented artists to emerge. VSTs, synthesizers, drum machines, analog gear, digital gear—it’s a vast and exciting world, but one where it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

In 2018, I decided to embark on a unique challenge: building a homemade synthesizer using an uncommon technology for music equipment. Initially, the plan was to use it for generating sound patterns in live DJ performances. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its sound quality and decided to invest more time in refining it into a reliable and stable instrument. The result of this effort was “The Tiny Synth,” named for its compact dimensions. Then I thought, Why not try making music with it? That’s how Synthworks was born—a collection of six tracks designed to explore and showcase the capabilities of the Tiny Synth.
