Government and billionaires are in the process of taking everything away - including your privacy and freedom.
It was already pretty bad with things like tying healthcare and other survival needs to whether or not you're continuously employed (or lucky enough to be born into money). Forcing millions to endure shitty bosses giving out bullshit work for low wages - just to barely survive with little to no time or energy for family, friends, hobbies or rest.
You can't buy anything anymore, only subscribe - including things like car features where the software and hardware is already pre-installed but locked behind a paywall (e.g. BMW's preheated seats and Tesla so-called FSD). You're not allowed to repair or modify anything yourself without voiding warranties or potentially facing legal consequences - if you're allowed to buy parts for it in the first place. The stuff you're paying for/subscribing to can be taken away from you at any moment for any reason with no recourse. (Let's be honest here, you barely even own your home - the only thing allowing you to stay is a flimsy sheet of paper and a legal system that is rarely, if ever, on your side.) On top of that, they feed your personal data into algorithms to determine the maximum amount you'll pay at any given moment (and naturally none of that extra profit goes to the people who actually build whatever you're being charged extra for). They're even using algorithms to determine maximum rent!
You can't drive or walk down the street without your face or car being monitored and tracked by dozens if not hundreds of cameras. And I don't just mean Ring doorbell cameras and Flock license plate trackers - even grocery stores have facial recognition systems in place. Face masks won't save you - AI exists that can identify you in a crowd from the shape of your silhouette and the way you walk.
Tech companies have hoovered up all of our personal user data online and used that data to craft algorithms so good at predicting our behavior that people have been accusing their phones of listening in on their conversations for decades - well before so-called AI was a thing. Governments have been buying up all of our online and social media data for years and now their partnering with and feeding all of our government data into companies like Palantir (was TormentNexusCoâ„¢ already taken??) to be stored in massive databases and processed and analyzed by AI.
And now we're losing any and all anonymity and privacy on the internet.
You know those oh-so-beloved reCaptchas where we're forced to prove to bots that we aren't bots...? Well, good news! You won't be forced to figure out which pictures are ducks anymore - Google along with Apple is in the process of replacing reCaptcha with a QR code that must be scanned with an approved Android or iOS device (effectively killing the ability to use alternative phone OSes like GrapheneOS).
Between that and so-called "age verification" - which is really just using children as a cover for implementing a whole "Internet ID" system - no one will be able to go online at all without identifying yourself first and having ALL of your online activity tied to that identity and tracked.
Everything you do will be tracked, stored, and analyzed by AI (that "confidently" gets things very wrong, very often) - all your shopping data, conversations with friends, the sites you browse and when (including your porn habits - if they even continue to allow porn access once we go full Orwell).
The inevitable next step will be to start controlling where we can and cant go and what we can and can't do - both online and off - using AI to monitor, track, and enforce it.
The net is closing in on us and we're running out of time to stop it. Any inaction is essentially making the active choice to give up your personal privacy and freedoms. Don't say you weren't warned...
