How to use Snorb

Snorb is a browser-based 3D sculpting and mapping tool.

Lemmings can't swim!
They won't move if they're underwater! (Unless they decide to be trail blazers!)
Lemmings are constrained by paths and cliffs.
Lemmings must demolish a sprite (placed by Forest or Custom Build) before they can build a house.
If a Lemming digs themself into a hole, you might have to help them get back out!

Arrow keys will change selected tile.
Press Enter to apply the current tool.

Use Alt+[first letter] to open a menu by keyboard.
Arrow keys navigate the menus.
+ and - keys adjust focused range inputs.

  • Sculpting: Use Raise, Lower, and Smooth to shape the terrain using the brushes. The Level terrain tool operates over a rectangular area by clicking and dragging.
  • Forest, Custom Build, Demolish: Place/remove Sprites on the terrain. Will randomly select a image URL from the comma-separated list in the input field. For URLs on other domains, ensure proper CORS permissions.
  • Paths: Paths maybe be built on, above, or below the terrain. Drag nodes with Edit Path tool. Right click or double click to remove nodes.
  • Cubes: Built at the level of each of its corners.
  • Shortcuts: Use the keyboard shortcuts for quick access to tools and view commands.
  • Saving: Maps automatically save to your browser's Local Storage, but you can also export them as .snorb files via the File menu.
  • Animations: Not editable in the web interface, must be manually coded in the snorbfiles.
