If the product is designed to last, will this refresh make the original version irrelevant?
Not at all, on the contrary. Existing users can upgrade the sound of their current Fairbuds XL in minutes by installing the new speaker units. Other components remain replaceable as usual. This refresh strengthens the longevity of both versions rather than replacing one with another.
Can I use new Fairbuds XL spare parts with my old Fairbuds XL?
Yes! We’ve designed the next evolution of the new Fairbuds XL in a way that allows for reverse compatibility with the previous Fairbuds XL.
What exactly has been improved in the audio quality?
The new 40 millimeter dynamic drivers and refined tuning deliver a more natural and balanced sound. Highs are clearer, mids are smoother, and lows are more controlled. The new tuning was specifically calibrated for the upgraded drivers and offers a noticeable improvement in everyday listening.
You say the headphones use around 50% fair and recycled materials. What does that include?
They contain 100% recycled rare earth elements in the speaker magnets, more than 90% recycled aluminum, more than 80% recycled plastics, and the copper, cobalt, silver, and gold used in the Fairbuds XL are accounted for through mineral verified credits, ensuring that the same amount of these materials is produced under more responsible conditions These choices reduce environmental impact while supporting improved working conditions in the supply chain.
Do sustainable materials reduce durability?
No. All recycled and fair mined materials meet the same technical and safety requirements as conventional materials. The new Fairbuds XL were tested and certified for long term durability through the independent LONGTIME label and as usual pass all of our in-house rigorous testing.
What makes the Fairbuds XL more climate conscious than the previous version?
The headphones are assembled using 100% renewable energy and are 100% e-waste neutral, meaning that for every unit sold, an equivalent weight of electronic waste is collected and recycled. This builds on the improvements introduced in the original model. In addition, as mentioned above - they contain approximately 50% fair and recycled materials.
