Your desktops, in the menu bar
See every desktop and what's open on it. Switch with a click, and drag apps between desktops without leaving the one you're on
Every desktop and the apps on it, right in the menu bar
Instant switching
Click a desktop number to jump straight there, with no slide.
Drag to move
Drop an app icon on another desktop. You stay put, or hold ⌥ to follow.
New desktop in one drop
The + button adds a desktop. Drop an icon on it to move that window there.
Slots remembered
On a Manual desktop, a returning window snaps back into its old slot.
Notch friendly
On MacBooks it hides under the notch and drops down when you point at it.
One bar per display
Every monitor gets its own bar with its own desktops.
Works on macOS 26 and later. Turn it on or off in Settings → General → Menu Bar
Three powerful modes
Choose independently for each monitor and each Space
Automatic window arrangement
Auto Tiling
Rapto picks the layout for you and rearranges windows as they open and close. Set the maximum number of tiled windows (2-8) per screen.
- Configurable max depth
- Smart window insertion
- Automatic reflow on close
Independent mode per monitor & Space
Any layout, in seconds
Open the overlay, pick a layout and click your windows into it. Or draw a layout of your own, right on your screen
Press ⌃⌥G to open the overlay
14 built-in layouts
Halves, thirds, quarters, 1 + 2, center focus and more, ready to go.
Click to assign
Choose exactly which window goes where, in the order you click them.
Draw your own
Place, move and resize zones right on your screen, with the exact size shown.
Save what you have
Already arranged your windows by hand? Save Layout Snapshot in the Rapto menu turns it into a layout.
One key per layout
Give any layout its own shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts → Template Shortcuts.
Yours to keep
Right-click a custom layout in the picker to rename or delete it.
Introducing Workspaces
One task, one click
A workspace saves the apps you use for a task and where each window goes. Bring them all back when you need them, and close them all when you're done
Arrange the apps for one task the way you like
Save a desktop
Right-click a desktop in the bar and save its apps and where each window goes, under a name you choose.
Everything comes back
Closed apps start up, minimized windows return, and each one lands in its place. A desktop in a layout keeps that layout.
Here or in a new desktop
Open in New Desktop gives a workspace a desktop of its own. On a busy desktop Rapto asks first.
Close in one click
Close Workspace closes all of its windows at once, even on another desktop. Unsaved work asks to be saved first.
Every display
A workspace remembers each display. If one isn’t connected, you choose where its apps go.
Easy to manage
Rename, delete or open workspaces in Settings → Workspaces, the Rapto menu or the desktops bar.
Apps that already have windows on another desktop stay where they are. Apps open with their usual window: tabs and documents aren't reopened
