Live currency conversion for 180+ world currencies
PocketWebTools' currency converter is a free, ad-free way to convert any amount between all the world's major currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, INR, AED, SAR) and 180+ regional currencies in between. Live mid-market rates are fetched in the background, so the number you see is what an exchange would quote between two parties before any bank or card-network spread is applied.
There is no signup, no API key and no upsell. Type an amount, pick a base currency, and watch the converted values update in real time across the rest of your selected currencies.
How to use it
- Pick your base currency from the currency search at the top of any card. The dropdown supports both the three-letter ISO code (USD, EUR, JPY) and the full currency name ("US Dollar", "Indian Rupee") so you can find what you need fast.
- Enter an amount in any card and the other cards recalculate immediately at the current mid-market rate.
- Add or remove currencies with the controls at the bottom of the panel. Your selection is remembered between visits in your browser, so the converter opens with your usual currencies next time.
- Reorder cards by drag and drop to keep the conversions you check most at the top.
- Check the timestamp under the converter to see exactly when the rates were last refreshed.

Mid-market vs. retail rates
The rate this tool shows is the mid-market rate: the midpoint between the buy and sell prices that banks quote to each other. It is the closest thing there is to a "real" exchange rate. Whenever you actually exchange money, a bank, card network or remittance app will widen the spread and may add a fee on top. That margin can be as low as 0.3% with a competitive multi-currency card or as high as 4–5% at a high-street bank or airport bureau.
Use the converter as a baseline: if the rate your provider offers is more than ~1% worse than what you see here, you are paying for a noticeable spread.
Frequently asked questions
- Where do the exchange rates come from?
- We fetch live mid-market rates from the Coinbase exchange-rate API and refresh them in the background. Rates are typical mid-market values; your bank, broker or card network may apply a spread of one to three percent on top.
- How often are the rates updated?
- Whenever the page is open, we refresh in the background every few minutes. The 'last updated' timestamp under the converter shows you exactly how fresh the current numbers are.
- Do you charge any fees?
- No. PocketWebTools does not handle money; we only show what one currency is worth in another. There is no signup, no API key and no usage cap.
- Can I rely on this for actual transfers?
- Use it for planning, invoicing estimates, travel budgets and back-of-envelope conversions. For an actual transfer, always confirm the rate your bank, card network or remittance provider will give you; they always include a margin over the mid-market rate.
- Which currencies are supported?
- Roughly 180 currencies, covering every major fiat (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY) plus regional currencies like INR, AED, SAR, ZAR, BRL, MXN, IDR, PHP, KRW, TRY and many more. Anything published by the Coinbase rate feed is selectable.
- Does it work offline?
- The page itself loads offline after the first visit, but live rates need a network connection to refresh. Without a connection you will see the most recently cached rates with a warning that the latest fetch failed.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- Only the request to the rate API leaves your browser, and that request contains no personal information, just a base currency symbol. Your selected amounts, currency choices and history are stored locally in your browser.
- Why does the rate I see differ from my bank's rate?
- Banks, card networks and money-transfer apps add a spread (a margin over the mid-market rate) plus sometimes a flat fee. The difference can be anywhere from 0.5% on a competitive multi-currency card to 4–5% on a high-street bank or airport bureau.
