Per Diem, a daily dice game

Per Diem

2 min read Original article ↗

Per Diem is a daily dice game where you play once a day. You draw 5 dice out of a bag of 25 (5 of each color: red, green, blue, white, black.)

Scoring Patterns: Multiple patterns stack. For example, rolling five sixes counts as five-of-a-kind, a full house, a pair, etc., and you score points for all of them.

Color Matters: Because dice are drawn without replacement, missing colors (like drawing no black dice) mean you cannot score color-based patterns that day.

Math & Charms: Your score is calculated as pips × multiplier. You can buy permanent charms (3 new ones available for everyone each day, changing at midnight). You arrange 5 charms each day in a specific order, meaning their sequence changes your score.

Currency: The number of coins you earn compounds based on your score: bottom 10% = +1 coin, top 50% = +1 coin, top 10% = +1 coin, and top 1% = +5 coins.
