Ubuntu 19.10 and future releases will not be officially supported by Steam or recommended to our users. We will evaluate ways to minimize breakage for existing users, but will also switch our focus to a different distribution, currently TBD.
Understandable. I just hope that this experience doesn't shake Valve's commitment to the Linux platform in the long term. Linux gaming has been improving so rapidly thanks to all the work that everybody has been putting in.
openSUSE would probably be a good choice, we have solid 32-bit multilib support, and our licensing approach would allow Steam to be officially in our non-oss repo if Valve would like that
Time to bring steamOS back from the dead. Maybe rebase it on clear linux ?
