During the last year, I have embarked myself on a quest of improving my life in any way I can. And it turns out that in my case it has all come down to habits. Drop bad habits. Pick up good habits.

Today, I want to talk about good habits. In my experience, the main blocker for picking or maintaining a habit has been the fear of failing, or not doing it the right way or simply being overwhelmed by the idea of doing a lot of something. The cure I have found for this is simply start doing things in a “lazy” way, and with this I mean, do not put a lot of effort on it, don’t focus on doing it perfect, and don’t worry about doing it in a big quantity. I hate to be unoriginal, but “Just do it”. Or even better, “Just do it frequently”.

Want to start going to the gym? Just go to the gym, it does not matter if you only run 5 minutes and lift just a few weights, just do it, and do it the next day, and so on. The need for quality and quantity will come by itself, and you will confront it easier because you will already have the inertia and the practice to keep you on track.

This is actually the approach I am taking to writing, I just try to write every day, and do not really worry about the quality or the length of the posts. I just do it and enjoy the process, and it feels great.
