The 21st century looks like a regular century in human history. We have faced wars, economic crises, natural disasters, a pandemic, sports records, and scientific breakthroughs. However, let me tell you something, this is not a regular century. On the contrary, the 21st century will be one of the most extraordinary centuries of all our civilization. We will leave standard Darwinian evolution behind.

In terms of science👩🏾‍🔬, 2023🚀 can be the best year of the century. We will witness great things. AI is getting better with tools like Chats GPT-3, and as Kurzweil said, in 2029, AI will pass a Turing Test, and in 2045 we will reach the Singularity. Moreover, AI will bring benefits to all industries, and we will have the privilege of seeing good progress in the following fields:

  • With the Physics 2022 Nobel Prize focused on Bell’s Inequality, quantum physics will be on the agenda of all physicians worldwide.
  • Metaverse with increase its adoption with the release of the Apple XR Headset, and we will start the transition between our traditional smartphones and new devices.
  • The rise of humanoid startups and brain chip companies like Neuralink makes us stronger.
  • Anti-Aging industry.
  • Spatial exploration is growing daily, and we will have missions like NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer. China’s spatial program will give us surprises and private exploration as well.
  • Most advanced and efficient agriculture. Including organic food and sustainable production of meat and vegetables.
  • Potential cures for Cancer and Alzheimer’s like #Lecanemab, which is a little step but a significant symbol.
  • Increase of applied decentralization (web3.0) in different industries like decentralized governments and identities. ( A decentralized OS for smartphones is needed…We need a new big guy different from Android or IOS)
  • The car green industry will increase the number of users and electric and hydrogen alternatives.
  • Cities are betting more on micro-mobility.

With the rise of these technologies, something that scares me a little is not being able to differentiate between a human creation and a machine creation. It can be art; it can be literature; it can be movies; and also it can be something trying to be yourself, authenticating in different systems, and obtaining sensitive information. Another point is the IRL interactions, these types of interactions are crucial to the human race, and we must preserve our social essence. This 2022 I was back in the office and realized the importance of working as a team in person and human interactions. Whenever we can live more advanced digital experiences, some people will prefer to live that reality to the real one.

Sadly, as civilization, we still have common problems like wars between brothers, inappropriate ways of handling waste, climate change, mental illness, excessive consumerism, corruption, and discrimination, which are hard to solve but not impossible.
