Due to one of those things that happen in life, I find myself with free time. I decided to put this free time to good use: learn something and make some money.
The obvious answer would be to build a SaaS. But I’m a seasoned programmer, most things required by a SaaS are not new to me and I don’t have an idea for something that hasn´t already been done.
So in time of need, we turn to a tv show for the needed wisdom. A better compression algorithm is something that will always find an useful niche. Therefore, I have decided to design and build a video codec.
So the objectives for this project are:
- Learn about video and image compression
- Learn about Rust programming
- Learn about ai-assisted coding
- Buy big bag to put all the money from selling video codec :)
