On December 8 when i came to know that my blog’s content was copied as it is to the Stack Overflow answer then i thought of notifying them as it was my work and it’s not allowed to copy one’s work and copy that in the Answer of Stack Overflow even without giving the credit to the original Author.

I sent them message on December 9 mentioning the Stack Overflow thread with my original content to dmca [@] stackexchange [.] com. After a few hours they replied me writing that my answer is helpful so instead of removing the content entirely, they could just link to my original blog post.

I replied them telling that i would want that answer assigned to me instead of just linking to my original post. Within a few hours they replied me to provide the link of my Stack Exchange profile and told me that they will be checking with their community if this was possible.

On December 10, they replied me with the email telling that the way i want i.e renaming the answer to me was not possible. So they leaved me with two options. The first one was to “Add a note at the top linking to my profile/blog” and another one is “Removing the answer with the copyright answer

Option one was not just enough thing that i wanted. So i went with second option. Now they wanted me to send my issue again in the same email address and i did that.

On December 10 i sent them this issue for the second time and it was 2 days i did not heard from them. I wrote them if there was any progress regarding my issue. Finally on December 13, i heard from them. They wrote me that normally the DMCA request are handled within one business day and this should be by tomorrow.

Finally on December 15 i heard from them. They told me that the Stack Overflow post has been updated according to my request. But i wanted the whole answer to be removed but they never wanted it.

I was not happy too much but i felt well because now the post contained the link to my original answer and if the visitors in Stack Overflow wanted to view the answer then they would have to come straight to the original content i.e my blog.

P.S: I love Stack Exchange, i am just sharing my procedure on reporting the copyright issue.
