Betteridge’s Law of Headlines states that headlines that end in a question mark can be answered by the word ‘no’. This article is an exception to the rule.

Read how my new buddy, Claude, and I built a blazing fast way to share photos that has no ads, and doesn’t ask you to put my face on a coffee mug. As a bonus, I’ll shamelessly sneak in some photos from my favorite trips … and talk about Claude behind his back.

Let’s dive in.

The Photo Sharing Problem

My wife, Cindy, and I travel frequently and we take a lot of photos (like gobs — hundreds and hundreds). We like to curate down to the best of the best, and share them with friends and family. For example, after completing El Camino del Norte, walking 530 miles across northern Spain over six weeks, we ended up with 1,148 photos. We mercifully whittled this down to just 149 before sharing.

In my setup, I use Adobe Lightroom Classic to manage all of the photos from two iPhones and a couple of cameras. We typically rate the photos from one to five stars. Anything two-star or higher gets shared. Three-star or higher gets printed for a keepsake trip photo album (typically 24 photos — the bestest of the best).
