Committers, The Valhalla team is currently working on the delivery of JEP 401: Value Classes and Objects (Preview) and JEP: Strict Field Initialization in the JVM. More information about project Valhalla and these project JEPs can be found at https://openjdk.org/projects/valhalla/. Tentative schedule for integration is as follows: - OpenJDK review is in progress at https://github.com/openjdk/jdk/pull/31120. - Code freeze for the project’s openjdk/valhalla repo will start Friday, June 19th. - Early July integration into OpenJDK mainline for JDK 28. This is an extremely large change and will be an equally large integration. We are asking OpenJDK committers to avoid large, “refactor the world” commits, or something that requires significant re-work to the openjdk/jdk repo during the next month. The Valhalla team are regularly merging + testing, but as we head toward integration we would greatly appreciate your help to ensure a successful integration. If anyone is planning to integrate (or sponsor) any big changes in the next month that might significantly conflict with the changes in these JEPs please reach out to Dan Smith (daniel.smith@oracle.com), david Simms (david.simms@oracle.com), or myself for discussion. Thank you, Lois
