How does LongTerMemory work?
Upload your own notes, slides, spreadsheets, books, or any document, and our AI automatically generates question-answer pairs. These are then scheduled using spaced repetition, so you review at optimal intervals for long-term retention.
What file formats can I upload?
You can import photos of textbook pages, infographics, and diagrams (JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF, BMP; AI reads them via OCR), personal notes (TXT, Markdown), slides (PowerPoint), spreadsheets (Excel), books and documents (PDF, Word, ODT), or add web links (URLs). Our AI extracts and processes the content from all of them automatically to generate study materials.
What is spaced repetition and why does it work?
Spaced repetition is a science-backed learning technique that schedules reviews at increasing intervals. Studies show it can achieve 90%+ retention compared to just 20% with cramming. You review right before you're about to forget.
How does the AI generate study questions?
We use RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) with OpenAI to analyze your materials and create contextual question-answer pairs. The AI understands the content and generates questions that test key concepts.
Can I ask questions directly about my study materials?
Yes! Once your materials are imported, you can open the built-in AI chat box inside any project and ask anything; from clarifying a concept to testing your understanding. The AI draws exclusively from your specific notes, slides, and documents to give you instant, accurate answers, like a personal tutor that has read everything you uploaded.
Are the AI-generated questions accurate?
The AI produces high-quality questions in most cases, but may occasionally make errors. We recommend reviewing generated content and reporting any issues you find so we can improve.
How secure is my data?
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit, passwordless authentication (no passwords to steal), and encrypted databases for storage. We never sell your data to third parties.
Who can see my uploaded documents?
Only you can access your documents. Content is processed by OpenAI for Q&A generation (governed by their privacy policy). We don't share your materials with any other third parties.
How do I sign in without a password?
Two passwordless options: sign in instantly with your Google account (one click, no setup), or use our magic link flow; enter your email, receive a secure link, and click to proceed. Either way, no password to remember or risk being stolen.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. Both packs are one-time payments; your card is charged once and never automatically charged again. No subscriptions, no auto-renewals, no automatic rebills.
