This is another reason to amend article 9 which limits Japans ability to strike back. As these attacks increase from not just criminal organizations, but also state sponsored attacks.

Pretty shocking statistic. I had thought the computer illiterates would mostly be in the ward offices etc, and not in the private sector.

$$$$ first the security second, these provider know exactly who is behind these attacks and yet they will not cut them off or block them, certain online activities raise red flags but it gets ignored.

Even Banks and financial inst. are benefiting from these activities.

Would never happen if they weren’t sucked in with expensive technology. Paper and filing cabinets are cheap and never have such problems. Same as fax machines, ever heard of them getting viruses, stealing your data or sending you loads of unwanted ads.

Nothing is safe if its in the cloud or internet. Company programming, banks, client data… nothing. If a dedicated hacker wants to get our details, he will. It is that simple.

Japan has a very deficient cybersecurity culture, up until recently the language barrier discouraged attackers so companies had a false sense of safety. That is not the case anymore and consequences are only going to grow until this changes.
