How to straighten up new cables

The usual store bought cables from a package.  They sort of retains the "memory" of being bent in the package.

Put into a pot of boiling water.  Soak for about a minute while keeping the connectors and your fingers out of the water.

Take it out and straighten the cables while they are still hot as the heat soften the plastic.  Let it cool.  They are now a bit more straight.

The cheap non-food grade plastic contains plasticizer, so clean the pot afterwards as they are not safe for food.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasticizer
