Frequently Asked Questions
You can find the cheapest GPU prices in 2026 by using GPU Sniper, one of the few price trackers that provides a comprehensive view of both new and used options from reliable markets. Other projects don't have support for used listings or lack scam protection, even on common stores like Amazon / Newegg. GPU Sniper gives you the option to shop used or just new, and combines thousands of product pages into a single view to guarantee you the cheapest deals possible.
GPU Sniper saves you money by providing a powerful price tracker for graphics cards. We monitor prices in real-time and can send you a stock alert when your desired GPU drops below its MSRP. This allows you to buy at the best possible moment, avoiding inflated prices and securing the best deal for your PC build.
We block suspected scams using a two-layer system involving both AI and human audits. When our system detects a new product or a change in an existing product, we run it through a series of rigorous tests to determine if the deal is legitimate. In some cases where the AI cannot make a decision, it remains blocked but gets sent to a human for additional auditing. Our system blocks a majority of scams, but like any other market, we cannot guarantee 100% safety, especially since Amazon or supply chains could make mistakes too. Our goal is to minimize risk, and because of our scam protection, it's safer to shop on GPU Sniper than directly on a marketplace like Amazon or Ebay.
We update our data from Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg every 5 minutes, and each listing displays when it was last updated. Walmart updates are slower due to API rate limits, happening every 25 minutes. While a price could change in an instant, our goal is to provide you with the most up-to-date data possible so you never miss a deal or a GPU restock. Think about all the time you're saving by opening 100 tabs to search for the same information available to you on GPU Sniper for free.
Crowns are awarded to GPUs that stand out for offering excellent value or pricing. Here's what each one means:
- Diamond Crown: This GPU is priced within 1% of its MSRP. It's a strong indicator that the card is fairly priced and hasn't been inflated by scalpers.
- Example: MSRP $599 — Current Price $604 (0.8% above MSRP)
- Gold Crown: This is the cheapest in-stock GPU within its tier, regardless of MSRP. It's usually the best bang for your buck in that performance category.
- Example: If an RTX 5080 priced at $1400 earned this crown, an RTX 5080 priced at $1401 wouldn't.
- Example: Two RTX 5060 GPUs at the same price, both being the cheapest in the tier would earn this crown.
- Silver Crown: This GPU is priced within 5% MSRP of the cheapest in-stock GPU in its tier. It's still a very competitive deal.
- Example: Cheapest RTX 5070 is $619, MSRP is $549, An RTX 5070 priced at $639 would earn this crown ($639-$619 = $20; $20/$549 = 3.6%).
Note: Crowns are based on live pricing and stock data, so they can change frequently as new deals appear. Ideally, you want to buy a diamond crown or a gold crown, but depending on your manufacturer preferences and the time of day, a silver crown may also be a good bargain.
The GPU market fluctuates constantly based on supply, demand, shortages, and new product releases. The best way to determine if it's a good time to buy is to use our MSRP indicator, and in the future, our price history charts. You will soon be able to analyze trends for specific cards, like the RTX 5070, to see if the current price is a true bargain compared to recent weeks.
Historically, significant GPU deals often appear in the weeks following the launch of a new graphics card series, as retailers clear out older stock. Another excellent time is during major sales events like Black Friday. Using a price tracker like GPU Sniper ensures you're ready to act whenever these opportunities arise. During supply shortages, remember that market surges can happen extremely quickly, and most (if not, all) retailers let you return within 30 days. Read the tech news, since buying before a price surge can be the difference between extra gaming performance and a headache of waiting for the GPU to drop back to its MSRP.
Yes. After signing up for a free GPU Sniper account, you can configure personalized notifications. We can send you an email alert the moment your chosen graphics card's price drops below a target you set, or as soon as it comes back in stock. We're also working on a Discord notification system for our community!
Our system constantly fetches data directly from retailer APIs for the best data accuracy. When a high-demand card that was previously out of stock becomes available or drops in price, our GPU restock tracker identifies the change and can send an immediate stock or price alert to users who are tracking that card. Unlike other price trackers, GPU Sniper can categorize GPUs by their type and features to create unified tracking lists, so you can use one alert to track hundreds of GPUs at once!
GPU Sniper centralizes the tracking process for you. Instead of manually checking hundreds of retailer or marketplace pages, our dashboard shows you the latest price and stock status for thousands of GPUs across all sites. This saves you time and helps you compare options easily.
We provide comprehensive market coverage for all major desktop GPU lines. This includes NVIDIA's GeForce RTX series (e.g., RTX 4090, 5080), AMD's Radeon RX series (e.g., RX 9070 XT), and Intel's Arc series, ensuring you can find deals regardless of your preferred brand. To keep our system fresh, we "flush out" older GPUs (like the GT 710) that no one would reasonably buy anymore to improve our tracking speed for newer products (like the RTX 5070).
Price history graphs are coming soon; to comply with Amazon's data redistribution policies, we will not store historical price data for Amazon products on our servers for longer than 24 hours. However, you may save any data you retrieve for personal use. We are developing a browser extension that allows you to locally collect and view your own price history in graph form, without violating Amazon's terms. Please note that if we receive a cease and desist order from Amazon, we will be required to discontinue distribution and support of the extension.
GPU Sniper started in the US, but we're expanding to other countries like Canada. We plan to expand in this order (subject to change): Canada, Germany, the UK, India, then other countries. As of March 14th, only the US is supported, but we hope to change that by April.
Yes, the core features of GPU Sniper, including price tracking, viewing price history, and setting up alerts, are completely free for our users. Our goal is to provide a valuable tool to help the PC building community save money.
We are proud to announce our newest site RAM Sniper, a memory price tracker built on the same foundation as GPU Sniper. We are also working on CPU Sniper, so you can track CPU prices too. Eventually, we plan to merge these sites into an all-in-one solution for building an entire PC from scratch. Please support the project by using GPU Sniper or joining our PC builder community!
