Troubleshooting
If TestFlight asks for a "Redeem Code":
- Close TestFlight completely
- Click the invitation link again
- The app should now appear without requiring a code

The process is now automatic. Simply download the app, install it, and launch it. Once you launch it, a product key will be generated automatically, allowing you to activate the app and start using it.
We're also working on a major new feature, so let us know if there's anything you need that isn’t already provided in the app!

Were you able to get around this?
I have the same problem:
- Windows 10, fresh install of Ray
- key is shown
- email is empty and it is not possible to enter any letters or paste text into the email field with Ctrl-V
same problem here with the windows version can't enter the email adress. i have a second question with android version i only have cc and Aa in the top right corner of the app and can't see where to change the language for subtitle i want . thanks a lot
Hi, I just downloaded it and had the same issue. But I just copied my email address in notepad and pasted it in Ray's login dialog using right click.
We've release v3 for iOS and Android. Please try it out.
It still asked me to provide a license key. (Windows version)

At this point I wouldn't recommend it to anyone on my readers list. Well, reinstalled Ray. It opened to a welcome screen asking for Select Media or YouTube link. Clicked Settings. License activated, yes. License key filled in. Version 2025-01-12.Pasted in local file name. Wouldn't download processed file.So, it doesn't do what I need, that is process local files. So much for that. Thanks for responding. Just to clarify — the YouTube link field only accepts links to actual YouTube videos; it won't work with local file paths. To process a local video file, you’ll need to use the “Browse” button to select the file directly from a folder on your computer. Once the video starts playing, you can enable captions in the player to generate subtitles.
If you'd like to give it another try and run into any issues, feel free to reach out — we're happy to help!
If anyone's wondering how to enter their email, I ended up typing mine into Notepad and then copying it from there and pasting it into the box by right-clicking it.

Tried it with different videos with diff languages and I keep getting an error that it couldn't generate subs for the audio and it can't get a Content ID. If I let it load, I get stuck on a "Captions are delayed due to high demand." error. Any idea how long I should wait for?

After overcoming the mail problem with "paste" as described above, I now have the same failure to generate captions.
- first there is an error "can't get content id"
- then the progress bar runs for 2-3 minutes to full
- then I get the error message "Captions are delayed due to high demand" as mentioned above

Thanks for the quick answer. I installed into a custom directory "C:\Media\Ray". It is Windows 10. Is there any logging I could activate and/or check?

We’ve successfully identified the issue and are working on rolling out an OTA update that will fix it.
We've released an update. Try it again and let me know if you encounter any further issues.
As my actual answer got displaced into a separate comment below: How do I update? The installer I used still seems to be the same "Ray Setup 2025-01-01 (64-bit).exe"
Maybe you missed my earlier question. How can I try your update, as you suggested above?
Please download and use the latest version from techspecsray.com. If you're still unable to generate subtitles, check to ensure that your antivirus or firewall is not preventing the app from connecting to our servers.
It was mentioned in the Faq that the program can run in Offline Mode. But I did not find such an option in the player settings. It seems that the program works online only. Or has this feature not been implemented yet?

ASTRA, our AI engine, performs all subtitle generation and translation directly on your system without sending any data to external servers. We're working on it—offline mode isn't out yet. It will be available soon. We intend to release it along with other features like audio dubbing and speaker diarization.
How do I enable translated subtitles? It say disabled on the settings screen.

Hello, can we please get an option to convert the original subtitle of the track into English if it's in a different language?

You want to upload your own original subtitle track and have the app translate it into English?
No I want the original track to be subtitled into any other language and not just it's original language. If I have a Spanish movie that provides Spanish subtitles, I want to be able to change the Spanish subtitles to English or any other language.

I was not able to make the program work or load.
I installed it on my Android TV 14 box, I get the welcome screen, it shows me "get started", I click on it, but nothing.
it is like it doesn't register that I clicked on it, so it is stuck on that screen.
Also it doesn't show up as an installed on my box. no Icon in App draw and not listed as an installed App in "settings -> Apps".
the only way to attempt loading it again is by re-installing it each time you want to try and load it.
Because after installation you get a prompt either "Done" or "Open", so selecting the "open" is the only way to load it. but you must go through the installation process in order to see the "Open" prompt option.

Here are some screenshots from Ray v3, showcasing single and multi-subtitles, to be released very soon. V3 will support displaying subtitles in up to four different languages simultaneously. It would also show clear dialogue separation for multiple speakers.

We haven’t tested it on Android TV yet, we’ve only tested it extensively on smartphones and tablets.
Android TV support will require some modifications.
We don’t currently have an Android TV unit in our lab, so if you’re willing to test it and share feedback (including videos), we can make the necessary modifications needed for it to work flawlessly on Android TV.
We can communicate via email or Discord. If needed, we can also get on a call, or you can record and share videos with us at ral@techspecs.io.
We tested it on the Android TV emulator, and it seems to be working fine. If you send me an email with more details and include a video recording, we can look into why it’s not working on your Android TV.
