Description
I searched for another issue to add my vote to, but was unable to find one.
The change in v4 to always require an explicit Azure Subscription ID to be set, even when using Azure CLI authentication can be very frustrating. This is particularly the case for the local development cycle or when teaching the basics of Terraform.
I am unsure of the practical reasons for making this change, but I am certain it would be simple to fallback to run az account show --query id -o tsv if Azure CLI auth is being used and no subscription ID has been supplied.
All the other Azure providers and the azurerm backend still support this, so unsure why this provider cannot?
