Stopping maintenance

Hello there.

The project won't be maintained anymore.
While I had a great time joining the project a few years ago and learned a lot from it, it also has been mostly about negative feedback or criticism. Based on the API usage, I'd say a lot of people used it but most interactions were from the ones having issues with it.

Not only I don't earn money out of it but spend money/free time on it, so I have reached the point where this project is a real burden for me, and the next focus to be on projects that people care about.

Things might have been different with more marketing activity or by choosing another frame for this project so it scales better (both about implementation maintenance and specs changes). But it's always been a free time project, in direct concurrence with valuable time with family or personal hobbies.

There is still someone evaluating new implementations on https://codebase.show/projects/realworld but this project won't be maintained. Direct impacts are:

  • no issue/pr triage
  • the API server has been deleted, as well as the demo deployment for obvious reasons
