#Theranos
- Four hour average turn-around time
- Dedicated Walgreens stores
- Potentially allow follow-up medical procedures based on the blood sample, without even needing patient intervention
- HEALTHCARE DESPERATELY NEEDS REFORMING
- Cross-relations with new Diabetic offerings with Pin-Pricks? Does this just take it 50000x further?
- They are ALL about the workflow, the experience
- Scared of needles, fear of the massive amount of wait or "oh fuck I could be sick" time.
- First to bill medicare/medicaid at less than %50 of their re-imbursement threshholds (65 BILL for medicare, >90 BILLION FOR MEDICAID)
- SOLVE SYSTEMIC ISSUES
- 93% of error in lab process is in 'pre-analytic processing', or where 'humans do things', like manually centrifuging a sample or transproting it, temperature changes...how long it takes before you run it
- They've automated this so that they can standardize this as a framework
- Build it out for physicians to look at the data over time to provide insight
- They like to liken it to a 'Movie'. "Where are you going? Can you generate the data and present the data in such a way that physicians are better able to see the future? Or follow the current theme and have a slight snapshot of the patient where it's somewhat out of context - one frame of the movie, vs. multiple frames of the movie."
- 70 tests can be run on a single drop of blood
- What are the prohibiting/enabling factors that allow you guys to enable a 'test'? Why is the number capped at 70?
- In and out in minutes - book time via app so you can just show up and get sit down and roll.
- The sheer amount of stagnance in the healthcare industry is off the charts; I really like the fact that you guys are not only bringing it into the 21st century, but completely innovating the entire experience even 10 steps further
- Doctors/Nurses don't want to do the menial tasks either.
- Limitation is the volume of samples to handle, not the technical stuff (architecture)
- JESUS - Get tested, get something on the books, get the data in the system, JUST TO SEEM WHAT MIGHT AFFECT YOU TODAY, with WHAT WE KNOW. But if you get it on record once, and they update their systems, they could notify you with something like "SUPER MAJOR CRAZXY DCANCER DISCOVERED, YOU ARE SUPER SUSCEPTIBLE, GET TESTED NOW"
- Really want to empower the individual to take control of their own health, to see what's affecting them in real time
