How it works

  1. 01

    Create a challenge

Pick a goal, a schedule, and how you'll prove it.

  2. 02

    Invite your friends

Bring along friends who also want to stick to the challenge.

  3. 03

    Set a stake

Agree how much each person puts at risk — up to $50. Everyone stakes the same amount.

  4. 04

    Sign the commitment

Everyone signs their commitment before day one.

  5. 05

    Link a payment method

Each person adds a card or Apple Pay.

  6. 06

    Submit daily proof

Everyone must submit proof of completing the challenge (live photo, GPS data, Apple Health metrics, etc).

  7. 07

    Keep the streak alive

The group streak only advances when every member submits proof that day — or on whatever schedule the challenge uses. Make it to the end together and nobody is charged.

  8. 08

    Or break it, together

If one person misses, the streak is broken and the challenge ends. Every member is charged their stake.

Why it works

  • Three figures carry one shared beam while the middle figure supports its heaviest load

    Köhler Effect

In a small group, people often increase their effort when they know the outcome depends on them. On Streek, the group streak advances only after every member checks in, so each person's follow-through is visible and essential.

  • One figure runs toward a goal while two others see the movement and begin to follow

    Goal Contagion

Seeing someone pursue a goal can make that goal feel more immediate and achievable. Every verified check-in gives the group visible momentum, encouraging everyone else to act.

  • A figure braces itself to stop a valued chain of tokens from being pulled away

    Loss Aversion

People generally work harder to avoid a loss than to gain an equivalent reward. A shared streak and money at risk give skipping a concrete cost, making follow-through harder to dismiss.

Questions

When do we get charged?

Nobody is charged when you join. Everyone links a card or Apple Pay up front, but nothing leaves your account unless the streak breaks. Finish the challenge and nobody pays.

What verification methods can we use?

Your group chooses how members will prove each check-in:

  • Live in-app photo
  • In-app timelapse
  • GPS check-in
  • Apple Health or Health Connect
  • Screen time

Proof must be captured or connected through the app. Camera roll uploads don’t count.

When does a challenge start?

Day one begins only after every member has signed the commitment and linked a payment method. Until then, the streak hasn’t started.

How many people can join a challenge?

Groups stay between 2 and 10 people.

Can we set our own rules?

Yes. The group leader chooses the goal, schedule, proof type, stake amount, and length before anyone signs. Stakes cap at $50 per person, and groups stay between 2 and 10 people.
