Questions.
Does it use the cloud?+
No. Recording and storage happen on your Mac. The only network calls are license validation with Paddle and the update check.
Why does it ask for Screen Recording permission?+
That is how macOS grants access to system audio. DesktopAudio uses it to hear what your Mac is playing; it does not capture or store your screen.
Does it record my microphone?+
Never. It does not ask for microphone permission and has no way to record you or the room.
What can I record?+
Anything your Mac plays: browser tabs, apps, streams, calls. If you can hear it, DesktopAudio can save it.
Will it work on Intel Macs?+
No. DesktopAudio is built for Apple Silicon (M1 and later) on macOS 14 or newer.
Is it on the App Store?+
No. Recording system audio does not fit the App Store sandbox. We ship outside the App Store, signed and notarized by Apple.
How do refunds work?+
