The Cure 1980 " Seventeen seconds" Peel session. One of the best from the band IMO (the 81 and 82's one ain't bad though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsUXcQakUno
Thanks for compiling such a great list! If you're taking suggestions, I highly recommend the Eno & the Winkies Peel session from 1974. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D1jrgER0cA
Impressive. If you don't mind, I'm going to steal your work and redo it as a spreadsheet, so that it can also be sorted by date, and then send it back to you. I will also, where possible, add the month and day, just because I'm kind of a stickler that way.
Juicy Lucy - She's Mine, She's Yours (John Peel Session 1969) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO9wfRoVJdw But I wonder where are other 3 songs from that session?
I have the 80% discography of meat beat manifesto (with singles), and jack dangers if you want... Replay with you email and i send you my google drive folder...
Amazing list thankyou so much - been down a proper rabbit hole of nostalgia last night. No Helen and the Horns or The Popticians which would be amazing to hear again.
Skrewdriver were played on Peel's shows in 1977 and were invited to do a session. On October 19 Skrewdriver recorded a John Peel session of four tracks at BBC’s Maida Vale studios: ‘Streetfight,’ ‘Unbeliever,’ ‘The Only One’ and a new version of ‘Anti-Social.’ The session was broadcasted on October 28.
Would love a better quality version of the Swell Maps 1979 session if anybody knows if it is out there. Marc Riley played something a while back and I have been waiting to hear it again properly for years since.
Hi as Eton Crop we're with one session in the list, we're adding all of the 5 sessions we did to YouTube. Here's the one I did today. https://youtu.be/jYG4pt5J_D0
Fucking amazing. This is so much fun. The Cure were so strong right out of the gate. Love how young, immediate and raw everything sounds. What a wonderful time in music. Thanks so much, Dave. Put a Donation Button at the top. I'd gladly donate for all your hard work. Love it love it.
Your list seems almost a copy of the vibracobra23 initiative at youtube which has been putting all of these and more Peel sessions over more than 5 years already. What is your story of doing this here?
Please could you add the session by 10,000 Maniacs, since (as with the Undertones) John pretty much made them, so it's really important in the history of the band.
I have the Peel Sessions for Ultraviolence if you need it. It's already been put on YT but if you're looking to add to your collection it's worth getting.
Amazing, Took a quick look,,,Two questions. Who in their right mind would file all the THE bands under T??? You ignore the T and file under second/main name...the FENCE for example! Second..I only see Twinsets listed once..but they did 3 Oeels sessions.
Thank you so much for uploading these! I recorded many of these years ago from the Radio, but the quality of your uploads is so much better than my recordings. John Peel was indeed a legend. Hat's off to you for all your hard work.
This is a great resource and once complete will be amazing... can't see any Ivorthete Cutler or Pixies and there's not enough Fall stuff. Did Cardiacs do any peel sessions? Putting bands under 'The' apart from The The is a bit daft, but hey-ho, they're there!
One of John's very favourite bands were The Idle Race. They did a lot of Peel Sessions, most are out there and survive thankfully. Why such a glaring omission?
This is a valuable resource and once finished, it will be exceptional. I noticed there's no Ivorthete Cutler or Pixies, and there's not enough content on The Fall. Did Cardiacs ever perform in Peel Sessions? It seems a bit odd to categorize bands under 'The,' excluding The The, but they are included nonetheless! Seekingessay help can provide further insights into organizing and categorizing information effectively, ensuring comprehensive coverage of topics like music history and band discographies.

It's great but it's missing JSD Band, Frank Chickens, and Ivor Cutler. And Viv Stanshall, who was a highlight of the show back around 1980.

What about Loudon Wainwright? Plenty of sessions there
