For those with a chemical and or fragrance sensitivity, read on: CVN has started its anti-fragrance litigation movement by filing lawsuits in federal courts. Our class action against the massive Marriott hotel chain was the first. We have numerous others—and there are many more to come. Top of our list: Hotels, but ALL types of businesses are being addressed in these cases. It does not matter where you live. If you cannot access a business establishment because of your condition and its use of fragrance, we want to hear about it.

Third, we are not suing fragrance manufacturers (at least at this time). Our cases are about your safety and freedom to visit any business you like. As such, these are anti-discrimination cases, not “products liability” cases. We also do not intend to dictate what other people can or cannot wear—so long as YOU are not forced to smell it. When the public and companies see what we’re doing and how we are focused on laws that can actually make a difference, many businesses will voluntarily stop using fragrance, and will adopt anti-fragrance policies. Problem solved.
Some of these lawsuits will seek money damages, but first and foremost, they will always seek a change in business practices. You do not need to worry about (1) whether your situation is suited for these cases, (2) if you are the best candidate, or (3) why we are bringing some claims and not others, (4) where we are filing the cases, etc. That’s our job to figure that out, and there are important strategies behind these choices that we simply cannot share.
